ABOUT THE PROJECT

MADE IN ATHENS is most of all a research trajectory embedded in an ongoing project in the Academy concerning the challenges Europe is facing today. Along with the two visits in the city, lectures, reading groups and discursive sessions have taken place and will continue to take place in Kuvataideakatemia in an expanding knowledge rhizome on the topics addressed.

The project is initiated by professor Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger and guest teacher Nikos Doulos in close collaboration with MFA and BFA students Aleksandra Kiskonen, Saskia Suominen, Eeva Holkeri, Mariliis Rebane, Ingrid Orman, Ruben Ostan Vejrup, Justin Tyler Tate, to kosie, Jo Kjaergaard and Bogna Wisniewska and lecturer Suvi Lehtinen.

ABOUT THE BLOG

MADE IN ATHENS is an archival platform encompassing reports, reflections, documentation along with valuable sources of literature and videos concerning Kuvataideakatemia’s visit to Athens in February and May 2017.

The platform exist as a mere storage tank of observations, critical thoughts and poetic narratives that set to built a fundament for a final event in the Academy of the Arts, Helsinki at the end of the year.

Unsolicited, unedited and semi-chaotic in its nature, it utilises broken-english to give a temporary form to our encounters in the Greek capital.
